Max is turning one in just one week, so I took him out to do his one-year photo shoot. When we decided to name him Max last year, I also decided to decorate his bedroom in “Where the Wild Things Are” decor (future post to come!) because the main character in that story is named Max as well. Since we’ve had the last year to get to know our little Max, there is no doubt about it…he is definitely the KING of all the Wild Things. He is on the move 100% of the time that he is awake, and BOY! He is wearing us out! Not only is he King of all the Wild Things…he is also a wild thing in and of itself.
For his very simple, very small 1st Birthday Party next week, I’ve decided to make it a “Wild One” birthday party. So we went out to take a few photos to hang up at the party. I had the idea to dress him up as Max and a sweet friend from when we lived in Illinois dressed her little boy as “Max” for Halloween last year, and she offered to send us his old costume! It was perfect for our little Max!
Let’s just say, if you’re taking your baby’s one-year photos…don’t expect a lot of cooperation from your little one. Max was ALL over the place, running around, eating leaves, falling on the pavement, crying, making lizard faces, and basically being a one-year old. Trying to keep this costume white for even 6 minutes proved to be an impossible task…But despite the difficulties, I was able to snag at least a FEW good ones. I realize that some of these are blurry…but that’s just part of the territory.
Now, excuse me as I go get some Kleenex.
I’m not crying. You’re crying.
THIS is my FAVORITE! He looks like he’s right out of a storybook!
