Since the beginning of the summer, Bryce and I have been avid Pokemon Go-ers. The game has provided us with tons of free dates walking around our new town, and getting a little exercise in the process. We’ve bonded over 11:00 pm adventures seeking out Charizards, and shared in some healthy competition over my stellar Snorlax find (he wasn’t so lucky in snagging one).
When we discovered that we had some big news to share this fall….we only had one way to share it.
Obviously we found an egg that needed some incubation…
At the time these amazing pictures were taken by our dear friend Katelyn Ryan, we weren’t sure exactly what type of Poke-baby we were incubating….
But on December 14, Bryce and I found out our little bundle of joy is a boy! Since the beginning, we’ve had an inkling (hope…maybe?) since the beginning that this first pregnancy would give us a son, and we’re beyond thrilled to get to be parents to this already smiley little boy in May.
I mean seriously…he really looks like he’s already smiling! We’re just so in love! With that said…we are forreal lacking in the planning-for-baby department. We have a small brightly lit room perfect for a nursery…but it’s currently being used as storage for my many craft supplies. I’m trying to work up the motivation to get it all cleared out before my belly gets too big, and my exhaustion increases. We haven’t purchased anything yet, and haven’t set up a registry yet…so if any of you have any registry must-haves that we can’t live without…let us know in the comments!

January 23, 2017 at 2:39 pmMy most well loved purchases included my two baby wearing devices. I used a Moby wrap when Sam was small, and the Tula baby carrier once she was large enough for it. The Tula is great because its weight limits carry you beyond the one year mark and the baby can be worn front and back ways. There’s a lot of research out there about how baby wearing helps ease the stress of the “fourth trimester” for baby and ameliorates PPD symptoms in mama. For me, it was the bonding that I was able to have with her snuggled against me that, looking back now, is something I will treasure forever.
